The variety of dates, from the freshest, juiciest medjool dates to smaller varieties packed with flavor, was impressive. I couldn’t resist picking up some as souvenirs.

In the late afternoon, I embarked on a thrilling desert safari experience. The package I booked included everything one could hope for: quad biking over the dunes, sand surfing, and a camel ride that gave me a taste of traditional desert travel.
